Attorney Charles B. “Chuck” Angelo, 72 of Woodbridge, passed-away peacefully on Sunday, July 26th, 2020 at his home with his family by his side. For 49 years he was the loving husband of Barbara Mauriello Angelo and the devoted father of Justin Angelo, Allegra Angelo and Lara Angelo Battema. A proud “Jersey boy,” Chuck grew-up in Westfield, New Jersey and spent many summers “down the shore” with his family. A graduate of Holy Trinity high school, Fairfield University, and Fordham Law School, he moved to New Haven in the early 1970s. He founded the law firm of Antollino & Angelo forty-five years ago with his current partner, Frank Antollino. He was a longtime Orange Little League softball coach, a big animal lover, as well as an avid fan of crossword puzzles, science fiction, and war documentaries. He was a religious follower of University of Michigan sports (Go Blue!) and Fairfield Stags basketball, but above all, Chuck was the consummate “family man”. He is survived by his wife and children — Atty. Justin Angelo and his wife, Atty. Patricia M. Casey, of Dobbs Ferry, NY, Ms. Allegra Angelo of Biscayne Park, FL, Lara Angelo Battema and her husband, Chris Battema, of Jersey City, NJ, his sister, Marilyn Angelo Norton and her husband, Atty. Robert Norton, of Westfield, NJ, and his three grandsons — Connor Angelo, Hudson Battema, and Gabriel Angelo. His family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and health care aids of Yale Smilow Cancer Center.
The visiting hours will be Wednesday, July 29th from 4 to 7 pm at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue (masks and social distancing required, after offering your condolences please exit the funeral home). Family and friends are invited to go directly to Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 81 Center Road, Woodbridge on Thursday morning, July 30th at 11:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial (masks and social distancing required, no more than 100 people allowed in church). Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Closer to Free Fund, Smilow c/o Yale-New Haven Hospital Development, P.O. Box 1849, New Haven, CT 06508, or Fairfield University.

Chuck was my attorney for 40 years and also my husbands after we married. He was the nicest guy and worked hard to do the best for his clients. He often talked of his family whenever we saw him. He was so proud of the accomplishments of his children. He will be missed by all those who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace. You are all in our thoughts and prayers during this very sad time.
Barbara I am so devastated to hear the news about Chuck. I just found out. He was a great guy. I thought the world of him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family at this time.
All my best,
Nancy
Barbara, I just learned of Chuck and his battle with cancer and my heart sank.
I’ll always remember his competitive but kind nature.
I was always wanting to see him him again and share a scotch together!
It’ll have to be in heaven!
