Margaret Gasser DelFranco, 95, of New Haven passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was the wife of the late James V. DelFranco.  Born in New Haven on April 9, 1919; daughter of the late William and Sophie (Smith, Zuppe) Gasser.  Margaret had lived in the Wooster Street area until 1959 before moving to Fair Haven. She was a loving and caring woman who was devoted to her family. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her friends and family which she has shared throughout the years.  Mother of Sophie (Angelo) Appi of New Haven and the late Antoinette (Andrew) Laudano and Sam DelFranco.  Sister of Frances (Richard) McCann of Florida, James Zuppe, Jr. of West Haven and the late John Gasser, Rose (Bernard) Zambrano, Dorothy (Wallace) Hansen, Catherine (William) Seales, Catherine Stadolnik, Ann Grasso and Phyllis Gianelli.  Sister-in-law of Nicholas Grasso and Stephen Gianelli. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 6 step great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.  She also leaves behind the caring hands from nursing aides Michelle, Nancy, Wilmika, Kay and Marisole.

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Tuesday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church, North Haven at 10:00.  Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Tuesday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 am.
