Ann M. Gargano McKay, 79, of Branford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late John “Jack” McKay. Ann was born in New Haven on July 1, 1935; daughter of the late Anthony Gargone and Margaret Williams Gargano and had worked for Anthem Blue Cross for fifteen years until retiring as a Processor in the Hospital Claims Department. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, but most importantly was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who loved her family unconditionally. Mother of Deborah A. Gallagher and her husband Thomas. Grandmother of Michael, Thomas and Kelly Gallagher. Sister of Tony J. Gargano and his wife Janet and the late Jane Gargone Burrows, William Gargone and Jack Gargano. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the Surgical ICU Department 7-1 at Yale-New Haven Hospital for all their kindness, compassion and excellent care.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Monday morning at 11:15. Family and Friends may call from 8:30 AM until 11:15 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Mary’s Church, Branford at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven.
Debbie, Tommy, Michael, Thomas and Kelly. As you know, your mom/grandmother was such a loving person. She loved all of you so very much. I know this is hard but just know she is up there watching over you now and will be right there when you need her. Love and prayers to all of you.
