Mary Rose DellaCamera Vacca, 88, a resident of West Haven for most of her life until moving to North Haven in 2015, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford.  She was the beloved wife of 65 years to the late Eugene M. Vacca.  Mary was born in Hamden on December 17, 1927; daughter of the late Louis and Christina DeMayo DellaCamera; was a waitress in many area restaurants including Jimmie’s of Savin Rock and later worked for the former Miles, Inc. for many years until her retirement.  Mary was a parishioner of St. Lawrence Church, West Haven for 65 years, was very active with church and its school activities, and was very active with the East Haven and Milford Senior Centers where she enjoyed line dancing especially with the West Haven Boppers.  Mother of Christine Vacca Umsteadt, Michelle Vacca Cuozzo (Gerald), Michael E. Vacca and Gene D. Vacca.  Grandmother of Christian Umsteadt, Courtney Umsteadt (Wendy), G. Joe Cuozzo (Alexandra), Michael J. Vacca (Grace) and Ryan Vacca.  Sister of Angelo DellaCamera (Ann), Florence Guglietti (Frank), Julia Buonocore, Joseph DellaCamera (Ruth), Alfred DellaCamera (Phyllis) and the late George, Benjamin and Michael DellaCamera, Joan Cirrincione, Albert and James DellaCamera.  Predeceased by her daughter-in-law Debbie(Guarnieri)Vacca and a great-granddaughter Brittany Umsteadt.

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Thursday morning at 10:30.  Family and friends may call from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.  Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the CT Hospice, Inc., 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT  06405
