Annibale “Henry” Scirocco, 85, of New Haven passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Masonicare, Wallingford.  He was the husband of the late Patricia Adamo Scirocco.  Henry was born in Hamden on July 26, 1928; son of the late Giuseppe and Angela Migliozzi Scirocco; served his country faithfully in the US Army during the Korean War and had worked as a carpenter for Polar Cooler of West Haven for 25 years until his retirement.  Henry was a member of the West Haven Italian-American Civic Association; was a well-known fixture selling flowers on the corner of Kimberly Avenue and the Ella T. Grasso Boulevard.  He loved playing horseshoes, bowling and was a big fan of the NY Yankees and the UCONN Girl’s and Boys’ basketball teams.  Father of Joseph Scirocco, Deborah (Fred) Crampton, Angela Scirocco, Patricia (Robert) Wojciechowski and the late AnnMarie Scirocco.  Brother of Pasquale Scirocco and the late Frank Scirocco, Clem LaBanca and Angie Migliozzi.  Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Tuesday morning at 9:30.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 10:00.  Interment with full military honors will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.  The visiting hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 pm  Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Rd., Yorktown Heights, NY 10598.
