Gloria M. Mongillo Gagliardi, 91, of North Branford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford with family by her side.  She was the beloved wife of 69 years to Bernard S. Gagliardi.  Gloria was born in New Haven on May 5, 1925; daughter of the late Carmen and Nicoletta DiCrosta Mongillo; she was a graduate of Commercial High School and Stone Business College.  She worked for the City of New Haven, the Coca-Cola Company and later for Lifschutz Fast Freight until her retirement.  Gloria was a lifelong member of the St. Augustine parish community, enjoyed her frequent trips to the casino, traveling with her family, was a collector of turtle mementos, was a NY Yankees fan but most of all enjoyed being musically entertained by her family whom she loved unconditionally especially her grandsons.  Loving mother of Bernard S. Gagliardi. Jr. and his wife Maria Lisa.  Devoted grandmother of Todd, Jay, Luke and Brett Gagliardi.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  Predeceased by sisters, Camille Batson, Helen Della Rocca, Ann Gewecki, Edythe Scarlata, Phyllis Sabatino, Jean Bonito, Doris Palma and a brother Edward Mongillo.  A special “Thank You” to the nurses and staff of the CT Hospice, Branford for the excellent care and comfort they provided to Gloria and our family.

Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Frances Cabrini Church, 57 Pond Hill Road, North Haven on Tuesday morning at 9:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal services immediately following in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 pm at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.
