William E. Schull, 83, of Jasper, GA formerly of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the Northside Hospital, Canton, GA surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Barbara Scarpa Schull.  Bill was born in West Haven on February 25, 1931; son of the late Joseph C. and Anna Marie Graff Schull; a graduate of West Haven High School; he served his country faithfully in the US Navy based in New London; was the owner and operator of the former Valley Taxi Cab Co. and W.S. Construction.  Bill was a member of the Carpenter’s Local #24 of Yalesville, taught apprentice courses for Local #24 and Construction Technology courses for CCSU.  He worked as a General Superintendent for over 50 years on notable projects including I-95 and Rt. 7 highways, the Supreme Council building of the Knights of Columbus, New Haven  and most recently the Appalachian Tech College in Jasper, GA.  Bill was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge, was a former coach for Hamden Father’s Baseball and Hamden Youth Hockey, and was a parishioner and sang in the choir at Blessed Sacrament Church.  Father of Jeffrey (Brenda) Schull, Kathleen Greening, William E. (Carol) Schull, Jr., Marie (Roger) Couture and Dr. Diane Schull.  Grandfather of Adriana, Ashley and Jeffrey Schull, Jr., Brittany & Kaitlyn Greening, Heather & William E. Schull III, Amber, Christopher & Alyssa Couture.  Predeceased by his son-in-law Richard Greening and brothers Alexander, Andrew and Richard Schull.

His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Monday morning at 9:15.  Family and friends may call from 8:15 to 9:15 am.  A Mass of Christian burial will follow in Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:00.  Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the 89 Animal Haven, Inc., Mill Rd., North Haven, CT  06473.
