Salvacion Buenaflor Abella, 73, of Hamden passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Yale New Haven with her family and friends by her side. She was the wife of 49 years to Arturo M. Abella. Salvacion was born in the Philippines on October 20, 1941; daughter of the late Eleuterio and Asuncion Padua Buenaflor. She was very active with the PAAC and enjoyed bingo and going to the casino. Mother of Cristina (Alexander) Markowich, Marina Abella and Teresa (Dante) Abella-Villabona. Grandmother of Sophia, Natasha, Nicholas and Joseph Markowich, Daniel and Jake Villabona. Sister of Digna & Tobias.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Monday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Catholic burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Sunday from 3 to 6 pm.

What a dear, sweet woman. I am proud to call her my mother-in-law. She welcomed me into the family with open arms, and always treated me with kindness and respect, even though I took Cristy and moved her far away. She will be missed by all who knew her, and especially by her grandchildren, who love their Lola. Rest in peace.
