I was heart broken to hear of Barbara’s passing. I talked to her often late at night , and would talk about everything and anything , sharing pictures and stories. She was a tough fun and caring woman , and she will be missed.
Condolences from the Cyr family. We did not know this lovely lady in person, but know her granddaughter Katie and know she must have raised a wonderful family to be proud of. Katie sending love and hugs. You passed on the best of her I am sure with your teaching children how to ride and care for horses and a whole lot more about life.

What a shock when we heard that Barbara passed away. We’ve had only a few times the opportunity to meet our far away relative in reel life but each time it was a pleasure. Over the years we talked now and then by fb, for instance when she could not sleep and we were still awake in Holland. Always interested in others. I know for sure you will be deeply missed Barbara, but now you are with your Hidde again. Hugs and kisses for the ones you leave behind.

We had many years together of seeing Ken and Suzanne marry and raise their family, Connor and Haley! I will definitely miss our late night messages and occasional visits. Rest in peace! Barbara was the most “LOYAL, BESTEST FRIEND” that anyone could have ever had. She was selfless and devoted to her family. When her husband (Hidde) suffered from the ravages of Parkinson’s Disease, she brought him home from a nursing home and cared for him for 9 years 24/7. We have been best friends since we first met in East Haven High School. All these years since our graduation in 1953 (68 years), we have kept in touch and have gone on trips together and have had such fun together. I felt honored and blessed to be Barb’s friend, and I have treasured memories that I will keep in my heart of our friendship.
