Barbara Ermer, 67, of New Haven, formerly of West Haven for many years, died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 15, 2018. Barbara was born in New Haven on October 19, 1950 and was the daughter of the late Albert and Estella Shea Ermer. She was the beloved sister of Catherine (Kay) Fillion of New Haven, Sharon and Anthony Lucibello of North Haven, Patrick and Deb Chasse of Canton, Georgia, Albert and Susan Ermer of Seymour and the late Lynne Ermer-Chasse. In addition, she leaves her Aunt Eileen Shea and nephews Richard, Anthony, John, Brandon and nieces Casondra, Kari Ann, Victoria, Michelle, Kimberly, great nephews, great nieces, great niece, and cousins. Predeceased by her brother-in-law Edward Fillion and her close friend Dianne Elia. Barbara graduated from West Haven High School. She worked at Sears Service for many years and later for Terminex until her retirement. She loved crocheting, traveling, and crafting. The loves of her life were her nephews and nieces.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Friday morning at 10:15. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Victory Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to a Breast Cancer charity of your choice
Barbara was such a warm and caring woman whose love knew no bounds as she showed each day with the love & care she gave to her family. I will miss her FB posts of her nieces and nephews. The Montesi-Leahy family extend our deepest sympathy to her family and friends. Rest In Peace, Barbara.

Barbara is the constant presence in our lives. Not afraid of pain nor to let you know if you’re out of line. Someone you want to have close to your heart and she gave it freely. Don’t get in the way of her watching skating. Be with God and say hello to everyone for us.

Our condolences to the family. I had the privilege of meeting Barbara through her cousins Debbie and Karen. She was a warm, loving, and just exuded positivity and happiness. She always talked so fondly of her family. May your memories bring you comfort at this difficult time.
