Barbara J. Barth Cavanaugh, 80, of New Haven, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 21st , 2022 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late James J. Cavanaugh. Barbara was born in New Haven, on May 22, 1941, daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Guanya Barth. Barbara was a devoted mom, grandmother and foster mother. She was a crossing guard and volunteered often at her children’s school. Mother of Kelly Powell, Colleen, Jessica, Sean, James, Daniel, and Christian Cavanaugh. Sister of Joan Piscitelli and the late Francis Fiorillo. Also survived by eight grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929
I was so sorry to hear of my cousin Barbara’s passing. I have such wonderful memories of growing up with her. She had an infectious laugh and joy and love for all the family. She is with her Jimmy now. May she RIP.

To all of Barbara’s children and the rest of the family, Chet and I were so sorry to hear of Barbara’s passing. I have such fond memories of Barbara and Jimmy coming to visit our family so often. We had so many laughs and Barbara will be missed. I’m sure she is happy to be back with Jimmy now.
