It is with great sadness the family of Betsey D. Bimonte (Dunsing) of Wallingford share that she peacefully passed into eternal rest on July 27, 2022, at the age of 79.  She was born on August 24, 1942, in New Haven to the late Walter and Ruth (Luft) Dunsing. Betsey will be lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend of 60 years, Ronald Bimonte, Sr; children Ronald Bimonte, Jr (Mary) of Wallingford, Christine Bailey (Jim) of Southington and Laurie Bizzario (Gary Pedersen) of Northford; her grandchildren Zachary and Rachel Bimonte, Annalisa Block, Victoria Bailey and Michael and Olivia Bizzario. She also leaves behind extended family and so many dear friends. Predeceased by a brother Leonard Dunsing and a sister Marlene Barcella. Betsey grew up in New Haven and Hamden, graduating from Hamden High School in 1960.   After her graduation she worked at the phone company in New Haven and married the love of her life in 1962.  That was just the beginning of their lifelong love story.  Betsey and Ron moved to Wallingford to raise their family in 1972 where she resided until her death.  In the years that followed, Betsey worked at Bimonte’s Pizza Castle in Hamden for 18 years where the customers loved being waited on by her. She was a hard worker and managed her staff with grace and always with attention to their concerns and needs. Betsey had no problem doing what needed to be done at work wearing many hats including working the ovens, the takeout counter or answering the phones.  After many years in the restaurant business Betsey hung up her apron and finished out her working years at Stop and Shop in North Haven, until her retirement in 2002. Betsey and Ron enjoyed a lifetime of happiness together.  She was happiest by his side as they traveled to Florida for the winters, attended car shows for many years and of course, loved best being surrounded by her children and grandchildren.  Her sense of humor, quick wit and flare to speak her mind were just a few of her amazing qualities, she will be missed by so many.

The visiting hours will be on Sunday, July 31st at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue from 1 to 4 PM.  Family and friends are invited to go directly to Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford on Monday morning, August 1st at 10:00 for a Mass of Christian burial.  Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
