Thomas K. Vogt, 69, of Norwich passed away peacefully on Monday June 13, 2016 at the William W. Backus Hospital, Norwich with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 36 years to Carol Girard Vogt. Thomas was born in New Haven on April 27, 1947; son of the late Ruel and Inez Pratt Vogt; obtained an Associate Degree from the University of California-Long Beach; served his country faithfully in the US Navy during the Vietnam era and had worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Department of Defense for many years until his retirement. Thomas enjoyed gardening, fishing and pizza. Father of Stacy and Cindy Vogt, Justin Vogt (Christy), April Kucher (Ivan) and Becca Vogt. Grandfather of Josh, Madison, Olivia, John, Nikolai and Ivor. Predeceased by brothers William and James Vogt.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Saturday morning June 18th at 11:00 with the Rev. Scott Morrow officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Friday June 17th from 5 to 8 pm.
Carol, please know you, Stacy, Cindy, Justin, April and Becca are in my thoughts. It may feel like a small consolation right now, but when you look into the eyes of your children I bet you can see Tom looking back at you. Hold then tight.
