Jim Linehan, age 57, of North Haven, CT, passed away suddenly in his home of an apparent coronary on December 12. Born in New Haven, CT on April 10, 1958, he graduated from St. Peter’s School and High School in the Community, both of New Haven. Jim’s career was in public education. He worked first at Area Cooperative Educational Services (ACES) with special needs children and adults. While there he led a successful union organizing effort of non-certified personnel and was subsequently elected the first president. Jim later joined the staff of the Mauro/Sheridan Magnet School within New Haven Public Schools as a technology coordinator. Jim was widely respected and recognized for his humor, intelligence, hard work and willingness to give of himself to anyone needing support or a sympathetic ear. Jim is survived by Beth Levine, his loving partner of many years; his parents Edward and Pauline Linehan; his siblings Maureen Sesser, Richard Linehan, Edward Linehan Jr., sister-in-law Synia Carroll-Linehan; many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as scores of close friends.
A private service will be held for the family. A public Celebration of Life will be held in the spring, when all the family will be able to return to New Haven. More information will be forthcoming. The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Although I am saddened, fondness and smiles for many wonderful moments we shared together. He will be with me forever.
May your family take comfort in knowing that Jim is resting with the Angels. I worked directly across the hall from Jim at Sheridan. He was always there to support me in anything I wanted to do or try with technology. He was a great guy that I will miss dearly. God bless!
I will really miss him so much he was the greatest tech person I ever work with.
Thanks for so much, Jim. For fixing my computer, for junking my printer, for fixing my computer again with a jolly laugh, for being a Red Sox fan even in the face of Yankee excellence, for looking after those of us who weren't such techies – I'll miss you. You've earned a lovely rest. Peace.
My Condolences to Jim's family, he was a great part of the Mauro family and always kept me laughing with Linehan humor. Having worked with he and his brother Ed they came from the same happy full of jokes background. He is missed greatly.
Cousin Jimmy RIP love you.
