Carmel “Carm” DeLucia Proscino, 86, of North Haven passed away peacefully Sunday, June 24, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Proscino. Carmel was born in New Haven on March 30, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Louis and Philomena Valentino DeLucia. Mother of Carol Ann (Charles) Hexter, Harry(Michele)Proscino and Diane Proscino. Grandmother of James and Marisa Hexter and Courtney Tharp. Sister of Florence DellaRocco, Lucille Marinuzzi, Salvatore DeLucia, Anna Scali, Susan Elia, Theresa Wiel and the late Mary DeNuzzo, Nicholas, Angelo “Charlie” and Louis DeLucia. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Carmel was an endearing, loving wife, mother and grandmother with a generous heart and funny personality. She will be affectionately remembered as “Carmelina” and will be greatly missed.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue on Wednesday morning at 9:30. Family and friends may call from 8:00-9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489
