Carmel Theresa Koerber, 83, of Northford passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 29th at Branford Hills Health & Rehab. She was the wife of the late Duane “Nick” Koerber. Carmel was the daughter of the late Edward and Josephine Afragola and sister of the late Annemarie (Bill) Pajeski. She is survived by her son Stephen (Jeanne) Koerber, daughter Josephine Koerber and grandchildren Steven and Angela Koerber. She is forever remembered for her unwavering dedication to the National Kidney Foundation through annual walks and volunteering. She was an excellent cook and avid gardener, but what she enjoyed most was being surrounded by family. We loved her easy-going spirit and kindness to everyone always. Rest in peace Mom! We will miss you till the end of time!
Family and friends are invited to go directly to the North Branford Congregational-UCC, 1680 Foxon Road, North Branford on Thursday morning, Nov. 3rd to attend a funeral service at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
It’s so hard to come up with words when you really should be here with us. Carmel was a kind, amazing, and lovable soul who adored her children and grandchildren. My heart breaks knowing that Carmel is not with us. We were blessed to have her in our lives and will always have a void. God took back an angel for reasons that will be revealed at our passing so till then my dear friend… Sharon & Joe
