Carmen “Yockee” Parlato, Jr., 92, of Boca Raton, Florida, formerly of New Haven, CT, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at the Trustbridge Care Center, Boca Raton, FL. Born in New Haven on June 19th, 1930, he was the son of the late Camillo Parlato, Sr. and Erminia Miccio Parlato. Carmen served his country faithfully as a Private 1st Class in the US Army during the Korean war. He worked for Amtrack and then for many years at Millstone Nuclear Power Station in Waterford., CT.
Carmen loved his family, horse racing and was a man of deep faith. Carmen was predeceased by his brothers Ferdinand, Joseph, Anthony and Louis Parlato, and sisters Anna Parlato, Mary Redente, Jennie Criscuolo and Natalina Zanni. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. His family would like to extend a special recognition to Carmen’s niece Deborah Cestaro who provided such love and care for her uncle.
The visiting hours will be Monday morning, March 27th from 10:00 to 11:30 at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church 44 Washington Avenue at 12 noon. Interment with full military honors will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.

My sympathy goes out to the entire family. I had the feeling of knowing him due to the fond and loving words and conversations Henry and Sue had with uncle “Yockee” .They shared with me singing a song of the past. Sweet memories. I think of him as a very special person.
