Carol Fusco

Carol Scafariello Fusco, 87, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 21^st, 2023, at the Hamden Rehabilitation and Health Care Center with her family by her side.  She was the beloved wife of 59 years to the late Anthony M. Fusco.  Carol was born in New Haven on February 6^th, 1936, and was the daughter of the late John and Carrie Debiase Scafariello.  An active parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Carol enjoyed singing in their choir for many years. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren who she loved unconditionally.  Mother of Lisa Hackley and Jeffrey Fusco (Janiece). Grandmother of Nicholas and Jonathan Fusco, and the late Eddie Hackley, Jr. Sister of Patricia Chase, and John Scafariello (Maria). Also survived by nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses and staff at the Hamden Rehabilitation and Health Care Center for the kindness, comfort and support they provided to Carol.

Family and friends are invited to go directly to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church/St. Paul VI Parish, 2819 Whitney Avenue, Hamden on Saturday morning, May 6^th , 2023 at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
