Caroline “Carrie” Trotta Cossidente, 96, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Branford Hills Health Care Center. She was the beloved wife of the late George B. Cossidente. Carrie was born in New Haven on June 21, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Filomena Cangiano Trotta. Mother of Carla Gaewski and her husband Peter, and the late William, Pasquale, Rose and Judith Cossidente. Mother-in-law of Jeannette Cossidente. Grandmother of Daniel and Rachel Gaewski, and Justin Cossidente. Step-grandmother of John Girardi and his wife Theresa. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Carmine and Pasquale Trotta. Carrie’s family would like to extend a “Special Thank You” to her caregiver Eunice Ofosu for the loving, compassionate and excellent care she provided.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Wednesday morning, March 7th at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Frances Cabrini Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Tuesday, March 6th from 4 to 7 pm. Im so sorry to hear of Carries passing,, her and Phyllis were so funny together when Joann and I were with them, Im sure they are going to lunch and shopping together again. Such a sweet lady, may she rest in peace.
