Catherine Ann Longyear Misbach, 55, of New Haven, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at her son’s home in Cheshire surrounded by her family. She was born in New Haven on May 6, 1967 and was the daughter of the late Martha Lawlor Longyear. She had worked as a waitress at the Village Inn Restaurant, East Haven where she had many regulars, all of whom loved and adored her. Catherine also had her own cake business, where she baked delicious sweet treats for anyone who asked. Catherine did not only enjoy baking desserts, she loved eating them, oftentimes choosing dessert over dinner. Additionally, Catherine loved the beach, and spending time with her family. Catherine was a loving mother to her son, Mark Misbach who was her pride and joy and his wife Gabrielle, who she loved like a daughter. Beloved sister of Janice Hurlburt and her husband Russ as well as, her brothers Richard, and John Longyear. Also survived by a nephew, John M. Longyear and nieces Kerry Anne and Kamryn Longyear whom she loved dearly.
The visiting hours will be Wednesday morning, June 8th from 9:00 to 11:00 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Francis Church, New Haven at 11:30AM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

I would like to express my deepest heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your Mom, Mother-In-Law, Sister, and Cousin. I only just met Cathy a short while ago and can tell immediately that she was so loved by everyone and a pillar of strength in her family. While she is no longer with you, may Cathy live on forever through all the special times you shared together and your cherished memories of her. I pray that God shower you with his love and comfort during this most difficult time and that you know your beloved is resting in eternal peace.

Cathy was our waitress at Village Inn. She was such a sweet person. She was special to our family taking time with my 95 year old mother and always interested in our grandbabies. We are so sorry for your loss. May she rest now in Paradise with our dear Lord. May you be comforted by your many happy memories of Cathy.
