Catherine Louise Colomonico, age 89, of New Haven formerly of North Haven passed away December 16, 2021. She was the wife of the late Joseph Colomonico. Born in New Haven on April 30, 1932; daughter of the late Francis and Catherine Petrillo Laoue. Catherine worked for the North Haven Board of Education in the cafeteria for 32 years until her retirement. She also volunteered for Muscular Dystrophy and the Hospital of St. Raphael. Kaye lived on Overbrook Road for 60 years where she hosted many card games and family parties. She loved traveling, meeting up with the “gang” at McDonalds, crosswords, spending time with her grandchildren, and she never missed Jeopardy and The Wheel. Loving mother of Elaine Banas of Hamden, and Joseph (Jill) Colomonico, Jr. of Woodbridge. Devoted “Grammie” to Matthew and Christopher Banas, Christina (Stephen) Fricano, Catherine (Brian) Cuzzocreo and Karyn (Ryan) Howe. Great-grandmother of Joseph, Sophia, Abigail, Carolyn, and Elizabeth. Survived by: sister Mary (Frank) Arpino, sister-in-law to Julie Elkin and beloved Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sisters Elise Galasso, Frances Defabio, Shirley Bartozzi, Jeanette Lombardi and son in-law George Banas. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a good friend to many. The family would like to thank her health aids Joy, Rosie and Margaret for their support and loving care.

Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven on Monday morning, Dec. 20th at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal services immediately following in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Masks are required for all services.  A celebration of Life for Catherine and Joseph Colomonico will be held at a future date.
