Catherine Rose Amato Pethick, 80, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27th, 2022 at Branford Hills Health Care Center. She was the beloved wife of 63 years to the late Richard Pethick Sr. Catherine was born in New Haven on August 30, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Gabriel and Lora DeMaio Amato. She had worked in deposit services at the former New Haven Savings Bank for many years. Catherine was a member of the Society of Santa Maria Maddalena. She enjoyed cooking and family gatherings, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved unconditionally. Loving mother of Walter (Maria) Pethick, Gabriel Pethick, John Pethick, Dr. Mark (Alyssa) Pethick, the late Richard Pethick and Robert Pethick Sr. Mother-in-Law of Louise Pethick. Also survived by her thirteen beloved grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Predeceased by her brother Frank Amato.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Ave, North Haven on Saturday morning, July 2nd at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929
