Our beloved Bunny, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend passed away peacefully, at age 91, surrounded by her family. She joined the love of her life, her husband Bill of 62 years in the comfort of her faith, in heaven. Born in New Haven to Cecelia and Francis Cassidy. She is predeceased by her beloved siblings, sister Joan Vayo and brother Raymond Cassidy. At the age of 20 Bunny was inspired by her profound faith to enter the convent of the Grey Nuns of Montreal. After two years she returned home but continued to live a life of love and faith. Bunny proudly worked until age 81. The last 27 years for The Family Life Office. She was the comforting voice who answered the phone for those often calling in distress. Previously she worked for Albertus Magnus College and as a dental assistant. She was also a long term volunteer for FISH and her church. She was an active member of St. Francis Cabrini for over 50 years. Bunny treasured relationships and found friends at every stage of her life. From growing up with all her cousins in New Haven to her “Golden Girls” in the last few years of her life her friends were her great source of joy. Her love of reading, animals and travel she loved to share with others. If you were special, she may even share her chocolate. The aunt who always remembered your birthday, she will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Bunny is survived by her daughters Suzanne O’Brien (Mark Collins) and Mary Beth O’Brien and the light of her life, granddaughter Caidyn Collins. The family would like to thank her caretakers in the last few years of her life, Ernie, P.J., Iham, Aleisha, Khaleed, Hope and Brianna. You all made her journey easier and surrounded by love.
Friends and family are invited to attend a mass of Christian burial on Saturday morning, April 13th at Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish in St. Francis Cabrini Church, 57 Pond Hill Road, North Haven at 10:00 AM and are also invited to attend a committal service immediately following at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to theanimalhavenct.org

To Bunny’s Family,
I was happy to have met her at the North Haven senior center. I liked her right away. She loved hearing about my Irish roots. She was always so pleasant and always with a smile, and funny. I told her that my grandmother would of loved her. We use to call each other from time to time. Loved hearing from her. She was an angel walking among us.
Make the dear Lord watch over all of you.
