Charles Angelo Zambrano, 92 of North Haven passed away at his home on Wednesday. July 26th. He was born on April 7th, 1931 in East Haven to the late Elizabeth and George Zambrano. He grew up in East Haven before moving to North Haven with his wife and family.   He leaves behind his wife of 67 years Marie (DeFelice) Zambrano. Charlie retired from Harloc Products, West Haven when he was 58 years old.  He started there at age 18 as a Tool and Die Maker and was promoted to Plant Manager in his mid-20’s. He then worked for Ultramatic for 10 years where he built production and prototype machinery.  He started his own company “Vendomatic” vending machine company in the 1960’s.  During his retirement he enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City and Cape Cod.  He spent most of his years devoted to his children and especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed wood working and built many items for them.  Charlie always helped family and friends from repairing their cars to remodeling their homes.  He enjoyed gardening and was very proud of his fig and lemon trees.  He enjoyed participating in many sports including baseball, football, and bowling.  He played for the Foxon Crowhill football team.   He was an avid Red Sox fan. Charlie was predeceased by his sisters Florence, Pearl, Elizabeth, Carmel, Mary, Concetta, Adeline, and Anna.  He was predeceased by his brothers Giacomo and Benny.  He leaves behind his children Jean (Jim) Marotta of Virginia, Charles (Diane) Zambrano of Cheshire and Lisa (Ernest) Viola of North Haven.  He also leaves his grandchildren Craig, Caitlin, Beth, Donna, Joseph and Andrew and his great grandchildren Julia, Zachary, Hannah, and Benjamin.

The visiting hours will be Friday morning, August 4th from 8:15 to 10:15 at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, East Haven at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
