Charles H. Miller, 97, of Hamden passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at the Masonicare Health Center, Wallingford with his family by his side.  He was the beloved husband of 21 years to Joanne Miller.  Charles was born in New Haven on December 17, 1919; son of the late Henry and Marion Miller. He served his country faithfully in the US Army Air Corp during WW II;  was a first Lieutenant in the 509 Fighter Squadron 405 Fighter Group;  had worked for Consolidated Industries in Cheshire and later as a manager for Leonard Concrete & Pipe in Hamden. “Charlie” was an avid golfer and member of the Laurel View Country Club; enjoyed gardening, building his “signature” stone walls, hiking and “extensive” traveling but most of all enjoyed his family whom he loved unconditionally.  Father of Cheryll (Richard) Berlepsch and William Miller.  Grandfather of Kelly Palmer.  Brother of Phyllis Davis and the late Evelyn Robert and William Miller.  Also survived by five great grandchildren; his wife Joanne’s children Todd Moler,  Nancy Stash, Donna (Gordon) Hall, Gregory (Doreen) Moler,  Jeff (Elaine) Moler, Gary Moler and Eric (Brooke) Moler and their families, his nieces, nephews and the Berlepsch grandchildren Melissa , Amy Erica & Carrie.  Predeceased by his wife of 47 years Betty Miller and his daughter–in-law Lisa Livieri  Miller.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Thursday morning at 10:00 in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Avenue, Hamden and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following with full military honors in St. Mary Cemetery, Hamden.  There will be no visiting hours.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonicare Home Health & Hospice, 104 S.
