Charles Yedder, 87, of East Haven passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 27th, 2022 with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 64 years to Elaine Bradley Yedder. Charles was born in Stratford on November 17, 1934 and was the son of the late Katherine Yedder. He had worked for the former Armstrong Rubber Company of West Haven for 25 years and was a builder of homes until his retirement. A family man, Charles loved spending time by the water when on vacations with his family and enjoyed gardening, collecting trains and playing cards ((known as the “set back king”) Father of Sharon (Michael) LeGates, Sandra (Michael) Perrelli, David (Janice) Yedder, Lisa (Jim) Peek and the late Donna Linsley. Grandfather of Arielle, Brandi, Samantha, Mikaela, Danielle, Chloe, Patrick, Hunter and Aiden. Great grandfather of Roman Charles.
The visiting hours will be Thursday morning, Sept. 1st from 10:00 to 11:00 in The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Catholic service will be conducted in the funeral home at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929 or the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7923.
