Cheryl “Bunny” Mangino Galko, 62, of Northford, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2023, at her home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 41 years to Anthony Galko. Bunny was born in New Haven on Easter Sunday, April 2, 1961, which was how she was given the nickname “Bunny”. The daughter of Joan Zuroski Mangino and the late Joseph D. Mangino Sr. She was the co-owner and operator of Tri-Star Trucking & Excavation for many years. Bunny was a parishioner of the Church of the Resurrection in Wallingford. She was always very creative in designing incredible floral arrangements and everything she touched “turned to gold”. Bunny’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her two son’s and beloved granddaughter who she loved unconditionally. Loving mother of Tony Galko (Mandy) and Nick Galko (Laura Aceto). Devoted grandmother of Sadie Galko. Beloved sister of Mary Cone (Robert), Joseph Mangino Jr. (Michelle) and Robert Mangino.
The visiting hours will be Saturday morning, May 27th from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford at 11:00. Interment will follow at In Memoriam Cemetery, Wallingford.
I cannot express my sadness at the loss of Bunny. She was a trul special person. More than half my life was made up of wonderful memories we made, and though I am mot sure of the reason we have not been close in recent years, I never stopped loving her and praying for her. Tony, Nick and Tony you were the lights of her life. I am truly sorry for this great loss for you all and of course the rest of the family.
Bunny will leave a void in many lives.
Donna
My very most sincere condolences to Bunny’s entire family.
I have had the extreme pleasure of knowing Bunny and her family for many years and both Bunny and her family have always treated me like family and I can’t begin to say how very much appreciative I will always be for that kindness!
May the Good Lord rest her beautiful soul and I do look forward to the day when we all will once again be reunited in Paradise.
Rest in peace my friend.
