Christopher Patrick Rynne, of Madison, formerly of Hamden, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on January 24, 2018. Born in Cahersherkin, Ennistymon, Co. Clare, Ireland on April 15th, 1933, he was the son of the late John and Mary Rynne. He is survived by his three daughters , Maureen Rynne, Patricia Rynne, Christine Beirne (Brian) of Madison, his cherished grandchildren , Roisin and Brian Beirne and two siblings, Kathleen Saunders of Wallingford and Edward Rynne of Dublin, Ireland. Chris was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Angela Josephine (Cox) Rynne, who passed away in October, as well as three brothers (Tom, Michael, and Sean), four sisters (Nonie, Aggie, Mary, and Liz), and two brother-in-laws (James Cox and Frederick Saunders). Chris was the ninth of ten children. Following his schooling, he worked in Dublin and London before immigrating to the US in 1958 to his sister, Kathleen and her husband Frederick Saunders in New Haven. He met Angela through mutual Irish friends. They married in 1962 and they raised their family in Hamden for 38 years before moving to Madison in 2000. Chris retired from South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority after 41 years as a service representative. He spent his retirement years traveling abroad to visit family and friends. He enjoyed walks at Hammonassett, bird watching, and spending time with his family including dozens of nieces and nephews whom he cherished. He was a long-time member of the Irish American Community Center in East Haven where he and his wife attended many ceili dances with family and friends. He so enjoyed going to the Club on Sunday mornings to watch Gaelic Football and Hurling. It was even better when his beloved County team was playing – Up the Banner! Always talkative, he loved meeting up with old friends, near and far, and cultivating new friendships along the way. He enjoyed listening to traditional Irish music and watching boxing, golf, and UConn women’s basketball. Chris was a parishioner of St. Margaret Church in Madison.
