Curt Hawkes, of North Haven, beloved son, brother, husband, and adored father passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 30th, 2023. Curt was born on July 6th, 1964, in Greenfield, Massachusetts, to Linda M. and R. Whitney (Whit) Hawkes. He grew up in North Haven, CT, attended Notre Dame High School, and graduated from Marist College, in 1986. While at Marist, Curt met his wife Patricia (Pat), and made lifelong friends. Curt and Pat were married on St. Patrick’s Day in 1990, and moved to North Haven, Connecticut, where they happily spent the last 30+ years. Curt was a devoted father, husband, son, nephew and friend who left an immediate impact on each person he interacted with. He started every day with a call to his brother Chris, his parents, and his lifelong best friend, Marty Carlo, all of whom he adored more than words can express. Family was the most important part of his life. Curt’s greatest joy was the time spent with his daughters Norah and Delia, who were the loves of his life. He shared countless hours of laughter and unforgettable memories with his brother, Chris (Kim) Bahama, NC, sisters in-law, Mary (Ray) Buckley, Bethel, CT, and Judith (Rick) Drago, Weston, CT. Curt’s nephews and nieces Richard (Kaitlin), Raymond, Shannon, Charlie, Jake, Caeley, Colin and Liam, as well as his great nephew, Christian, and his cousins, Kiley (Brandon) and Devin, brought him so much joy. Curt appreciated each member of his family, close or extended, and never missed an opportunity to let them know how much they meant to him. Curt spent years coaching softball, youth, high school (Maloney High School) and college (Albertus Magnus.) Though Curt’s life was cut unexpectedly short, his impact will echo far beyond his time on earth. Everyone who knew Curt was better because of their friendship with him, and he will be missed by everyone who loved him as dearly as he loved them.
The visiting hours will be Tuesday, April 4th from 4:30 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. To Pat, Norah & Delia and Whit, Linda Chris & Kim, Lee & I send our heartfelt condolences. I have known Curt since the day he was born as he became my first nephew. Linda, his mother, used to call him Beasley when Curt was a little kid. He was a wonderful young man and then he became a great dad and husband.
He has left us far too soon but I know the gates of Paradise opened when he met Saint Peter and he was welcomed home as the good and faithful servant that he was!
Lee and I send our love to you now and always.

Hound Dog, news of your sudden passing just reached me this morning, I toast you and your zest for life. Truly you are in my fondest memories of growing up Honeycomb. You gave me my first nick name (which Linda always called me by). I hope the Hawkes Clan, who I know and love, finds piece on this day knowing that you were loved and admired by so many. Hound Dog,
You are and will forever be one of my best freinds. I love you and will miss you always. I am so happy for the times we had and so sad you are gone. We spent so much time together growing up and you taught me so much! Softball, Forts in the woods, sailing on Sundays listening to the Giants, trips to Ocean City and Sanibel with our beautiful wives, cruising in Monte Carlos and Celicas, wild bothers, Ted Nugent concerts, the memories make me smile.
