Desiree Flanders-Velasquez, 35, of North Haven and Daytona Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2014 in the Halifax Health Medical Center, Daytona, Florida after a brief illness with her family by her side. Desiree was born on April 30th, 1979 to Dennis Flanders (Jo) of North Haven and Tatiana DellaCamera (Lou) of Daytona Beach, Florida. She was a 1997 graduate of Hamden High School and a graduate of Keiser College in 2005 with an Associate of Science Degree in Massage Therapy, Deans List in 2003 and Honor Roll in 2004. Mother of Kayla Velasquez of New Haven and Daniel Jones of Southington. Sister of Michael Flanders of Daytona Beach, FL, Samantha DellaCamera of Orlando, FL and Nicholas Flanders of North Haven. Granddaughter of Diane B. Sylvia of North Haven. Also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by a daughter Ezri.
Funeral Services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Wednesday evening October 22nd, 2014 at 7:30 pm with the Rev. Timothy Meehan officiating. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name care of The Amity Charitable Trust, PO Box 4129, Yalesville, CT 06492.
