Annette Richello Gattilia, 92, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 28, 2014 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was the wife of Rico B. Gattilia. Annette was born in New Haven on August 28, 1921; daughter of the late Giovanni and Maria Mastrillo Richello; she was a Registered Nurse having worked at Yale-New Haven and Gaylord Hospitals; was the founder and past president of the Concerned Citizens for the Environment in North Haven. The Quinnipiac River Watershed Association dedicated their library to the Gattilia Family as a result of her efforts.  Annette received an E.P.A. New England Regional award for her local environmental efforts.  Mother of Rico B. (Lauren P.) Gattilia, Jr.  Grandmother of Joseph Rico Gattilia.  Sister of Liberato Richello and the late Albert, Armand, Joseph, Justine Richello, Florence Ginter, Viola Ciaburri and Doris Thompson.

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Friday morning at 9:30.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Therese Church at 10:00.  Interment will follow in the North Haven Center Cemetery.  The visiting hours will be Thursday from 5 to 8 pm.  Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Quinnipiac River Watershed Association, 540 Oregon Rd., Meriden, CT  06451 or the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., Wallingford, CT  06492. www.obituaries.northhavenfuneral.com
