Evelyn (Aiguier) Fappiano Sayers, 91, of Durham, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Middlesex Hospital, Middletown.  She was the wife of the late Edward Sayers and the late Joseph Fappiano.  Evelyn was born in Astoria, New York on August 26, 1922; daughter of the late Frank and Anna Brennan Aiguier; had worked as a waitress at the former Necklace Restaurant, New Haven and later at the Quinnipiac Club, New Haven for thirty years until her retirement; was a great cook and loved to entertain at her home especially for the holidays surrounded by her family whom she loved unconditionally.  Loving mother of Joseph Fappiano, Richard (Carolyn) Fappiano, Robert (Terry) Fappiano, William (Marilyn) Fappiano and Lori Fappiano.  Beloved grandmother of Brian Fappiano.  Step-Mother of Gary (Pam) Sayers, Thomas (Janet) Sayers and David (Denise) Sayers.  Predeceased by her siblings, Rosella Gokey, Agnes Humphrey, Marian McInerney, Catherine and Frank Aiguier.

Family and friends are invited to go directly to Notre Dame Church, 272 Main Street, Durham on Monday morning, July 21st at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal services immediately following in All Saints Cemetery.  The visiting hours will be Sunday, July 20th from 2 to 4 pm at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.  Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Ctr. #3, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 or the Wounded Warrior Project, 370 7th Avenue, Suite 1802, New York, NY 10001
