Daniel A. Zilinskas, 85, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 7th, 2021 at his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary E. Hall Zilinskas. Daniel was born in Hartford on March 22, 1936 and was the son of the late Julia Gritis Stakulson. A graduate of Wilber Cross High School, Daniel had worked for the former Armstrong Rubber Company of West Haven for 25 years and later for the former Plasticrete Block & Supply until his retirement. Daniel was an avid bowler, a New York Mets and UCONN Men’s and Women’s basketball fan. Father of Laura (John) Fruin and Kari (William) Iovanna. Grandfather of Jessica (Brian) Cain, Corey (Lauren Beecher) Fruin, Andrew, Austin and Alphonso Iovanna. Great-Grandfather of Aiden Porreca and Gavin Cain. Also survived by his loving companion Julia “Gracie” Conroy. Predeceased by an infant brother Albert and a brother Theodore Zilinskas.
The visiting hours will be Thursday, May 13th from 10:30 AM to 12 Noon at the Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A service will be conducted at 12 Noon in the funeral home. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
Dan was my favorite brother in law! Will always remember his gentle demeanor and his wonderful sense of humor.
