David B. Castaldi, 65, of Hamden, passed away on Sunday, June 6th, 2021, while enjoying the outdoors with his wife. He was the beloved husband of 38 years to Regina Slinko Castaldi. Dave was born in Takoma Park, Maryland on April 17, 1956, and was the son of Helen Niland Castaldi and the late Joseph Castaldi. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Hartford. Dave worked as a sales representative for 42 years for Eder Brothers until his retirement on December 31st, 2020. He was an avid golfer, a fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Rangers. Dave enjoyed watching Seinfeld, listening to Rock & Roll, especially the Grateful Dead, manicuring his lawn (of which he took great pride) and traveling with his wife. Most of all, Dave enjoyed being with his family and friends who he loved unconditionally. Proud father of Jessica Castaldi, Nicholas Castaldi (fiancé Sarah Fitzmaurice), and Gregory Castaldi. Brother of Ray Castaldi (Sandy), Joanne Dixson (Arti) and Mary Beth Castaldi Bowerman (Allan Gronningsater). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and his ever faithful dog Molly.
The visiting hours will be Saturday, June 12, 2021, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A “Celebration of Dave’s Life” will be conducted at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
A true class act, #44 always had a smile on his face. I’m honored to have known Dave if only for a short period of time. A great family man that will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the Castaldi Family.
