David H. Schwartz, 91, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Barbara Plovack Schwartz. David was born in New Haven on September 17, 1925; son of the late Lorraine Hurlburt O’Brien; served his country faithfully in the US Merchant Marines and the US Army during WW II; had worked for the Olin-Winchesters which later became US Repeating Arms for many years until his retirement; was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the North Haven Senior Center, was an avid Boston Red Sox, NY Rangers and NY Giants fan but most of all he enjoyed devoting and spending time with his loving family. Father of Dr. Dean (Lynda) Schwartz, Mark (Rhonda) Schwartz, Ann Lion and Susan Konareski. Grandfather of Sarah (Tyler) Gibson, Christine, Matthew and Brandon Schwartz, Stephanie, Morgan and Joseph Lion, Jr, Larry Konareski, Jr, Christopher and Taylor Konareski. Great-Grandfather of Larry Konareski III. Brother of Marjorie DelGiudice, Frank (Evelyn) Silverman and Robert (Marilyn) O’Brien.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Tuesday morning at 9:15 am. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Michael Ukranian Church at 10:00. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 pm.

What a fabulous man and how I loved seeing him and enjoyed his quick wit , funny humor , and kind heart!! This was one of the most fabulous man I ever had the pleasure to meet and I know he will be surely missed by his fabulous, extensive family!!
