David Sundwall, 80, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 9th, 2022, at his home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Sandra Tosetti Sundwall. David was born in New Haven on February 6 1942 and was the son of the late James Sundwall and Lois Wrightington Hillinski , stepson of Jane Sundwall and Adam Hillinski He had served his country faithfully in the US Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis. David had worked as a truck driver for Keegan Construction of North Haven for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Shaw- Sinon Post 73, Wallingford and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Wallingford Aerie 1820. David had coached youth hockey and baseball in North Haven and had served as member of the North Haven Volunteer Fire Department. Father of David M. (Robert Pragano) Sundwall, Michael (Nancy) Sundwall, Holly (Christopher DeMartin) Sundwall, Eric (Bridget) Sundwall. Grandfather of Troy Sundwall Tyler, Kameron and Christopher DeMartin, Hailey, Hunter, Annabell Sundwall and Robert (Tory) Stevens. Great-grandfather of Carter Marie. Brother of James (Marilyn) Sundwall, Faith Connor, and the late Frances Green, Cynthia White and Irene Devoss.
The visiting hours will be Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 4 to 7 PM at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 57 Pond Hill Road, North Haven on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CT Special Olympics, 2666 State Street #1, Hamden, CT 06517.

Our VCH, Veterans Coffee House meets monthly at the Wlfd Senior Center which not only gives our Vets the chance to socialize but also take part in enjoying a guest speaker which are related to military topics, slide presentations and Q&A.
At this very difficult time, our group would like to honor the loss of David Sundwall as a fallen brother.
