Patricia A. Ward Holmes, 88, of North Branford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at the Atria at Larson Place, Hamden. She was the wife of the late Frederick L. Holmes, Jr. Patricia was born in Riverdale, New York on December 13, 1927; daughter of the late Martin J. and Madeline R. Tierney Ward and was a parishioner of St. Augustine Church for 60 years. Mother of Patricia (Carl) Berlepsch, Jill (Gregory) Fee and the late Frederick Lee Holmes III. Grandmother of Patricia L. Berlepsch and Edward D. Fee. Sister of Joan Camposano, Martin (Connie) Ward and the late Madeline Field and Dolores Leeper. Also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Wednesday morning at 10:30. Family and friends may call from 9 to 10:30am. A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Augustine Church at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford.
Jill and Patti, I am very sorry on the loss of your mom. She was much loved and will be remembered as a wonderful person. I love the photo you posted and it really personifies her and reminds us of the many happy memories we will all remember. Eddie and Trish, you were the apples of her eye!
My deepest sympathy for the passing of your mom. You don't know me, but your dad was my dad's first cousin. My dad Ed Ranney was very close to your dad and your mom. Your grandfather Big Lee was like a dad to my father. I remember when your parents were just married and how much I liked your mom. I brought my mother (Julie) to visit your mom at the house about 8 years ago. She was exactly as I remembered her. My sisters and I spent many wonderful summers at the cabin. We have such great memories. So sad that the clock cannot be turned back to those days. Our prayers to all the family.
