Lawrence Thomas Treichel Sr., 85, of New Haven, passed away peacefully with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren by his side on January 1, 2015.  He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years, Anne Mae Treichel and his daughter-in-law Cheryl McNulty Treichel.  Born in New Haven on February 8, 1929 he was the son of the late Albert Treichel and Mary Kelly.  He leaves behind eight children: Anne Trimachi (Joseph), Esther Charczynski (Walter), Larry Treichel Jr., Stephen Treichel (Love), George Treichel, Elise Palmer (Glenn), Thomas Treichel (Magdalene), and Laura Fargeorge (Edmund).  He also leaves 24 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He spent his life as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He was a parishioner at St. Bernadette Church and an avid sports fan.  He was a veteran of the Korean war and upon discharge he worked at the A.C. Gilbert Co. where he met his beloved wife.  He retired from H.B. Communications after thirty-five plus years of dedicated service.  He is survived by his sister Betty Ann Treichel and predeceased by his siblings Albert Treichel, Arlene Clark, Joseph Treichel, Eleanor Blackie, Elford Treichel and Lois Baker. 

His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home 36 Washington Avenue, Thursday morning, Jan. 8th at 9:15.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Bernadette Church at 10:00.  Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery.  The visiting hours will be Wednesday, Jan. 7th from 4 to 8 pm.  Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
