Diane M. Panuzio Benedetto, 59, of North Haven passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from injuries received in a motorcycle accident that evening in New Haven. She was the beloved wife of 37 years to Jack Benedetto, Jr. Diane was born in Bridgeport on April 4, 1958 and was the loving daughter of Marilyn Pace Panuzio and the late Louis Panuzio. Besides her husband and mother, Diane is survived by her loving daughters and best friends Diane (Domenic) Paniccia, Christina (Phillip) Mauro and Amanda (Wesley Bosco) Benedetto. Also survived by lights of her life, whom she loved unconditionally, her grandchildren Domenic Paniccia, Jr, Dylan Paniccia, Sonny and Miley Mauro, and Luciano Bosco. Sister of Leonard Panuzio, Shirley Rogers, Louis Panuzio and Beth (Scott) Albertson. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister-in-law Kathleen Panuzio.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Anthony Church, 70 Washington Avenue, New Haven on Thursday morning at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial. There will be no visiting hours. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue has been entrusted with the arrangements.

I first want to extend to you my deepest sympathy. I read the prayer that you had for your sister; it was so touching and loving that I felt the need to reply to it. I can only imagine the great pain you are feeling; I too, have sisters that I am close to, I know the pain I would be in if I lost them. Please know that this is not how God intended life to be. But because of the independent attitude of our first parents, Adam and Eve, we now experience tragedy and death in our lives. Please know that God’s original plans for us have not changed. He is going to make a pain free, wonderful paradise for us all to live in. His original prupose for us and the earth have not changed. We soon will see that everything that causes us pain in our lives will be removed – including death! This promise is found at Revelation 21:4. Along with that is the hope of seeing those we have lost in death by means of the resurrection. John 5:28, 29 tells us that soon those that have been lost to death will be brought back to life once again.
