Dino Edgar Ippolito, 92, of North Haven, formerly of Tarrytown, New York, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at home surrounded by family. Dino and his wife of 57 years, Philomena “Phyl” together witnessed the growth of more than just flowers in their Tarrytown home; bloomed with love, laughter and cherished memories of Ippolito Thanksgivings that welcomed 60 people   He is survived by three wonderful daughters, Mary (Michael) Sandt, Carol (Patrick) Prunty and Laura Bracale, sister Alma (Lou) Walshak.  His grandchildren Robert, Troy, Anthony, Valerie, James, Dori, Kirsten, Katrina, and Samantha were joys in his life.  He also leaves behind a multitude of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.  Predeceased by his daughter Joan, mother Maria, brothers Aldo (Pat), Ezio (Rosemary), Ugo (Cathy), Elio, and sister Vera (Bob), and Ada.  He was a quiet man with strong faith and love of God, family, church, and neighbors.  Those that knew him remember his value of teaching, learning, the sparkle in his eyes when he smiled and his encouragement.  Dino’s job in life was his family and his legacy was Love.

Dino studied both here and abroad, earning his Masters of Education from Columbia University and began a career teaching.  After 30 years teaching high school and then middle school Latin, mathematics, and computers, he enjoyed daily mass, his family, birds, gardening, reading and reflection on the Word.   He spent much of his life investing in his nieces and nephews and later his children and grandchildren.  He felt blessed to know so many good people.

The visiting hours will be on Monday, November 20th from 5 to 8 pm at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.  Family and friends are invited to go directly to Church of the Transfiguration, 268 S.
