Dolores Ann Cartier Martin, 90, of Northford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2022, after a long illness.  She was born to William and Ann McKiernan Cartier on March 29, 1932 in New Haven.  She graduated from Hill House High School in 1949.  Dolores worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Montowese Convalescent Home for many years.  She and her late husband, Ken, then worked with the Children’s Center of Hamden, fostering infants from birth to adoption.  Besides raising her own family, this was one of her proudest accomplishments.  During this time 42 infants were fostered, and she maintained a relationship with several of the adopting families.  Later she worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield as a Claims Examiner. Family was the most important thing to Dolores.  She was a loving Mother and Grandmother. Nothing gave her greater joy than seeing the family all together.  Dolores is predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Kenneth Martin who passed away in 1998.  She is survived by her four children, Kenneth “Skip” (Diane) Martin Jr., Gail (George) Martin, Scott (Dawn) Martin and Jennifer “Jody” (David) Martin, as well as her grandchildren, Ryan, Chad, Justin, Moriah, Tyson, Trevor, Daniel, and Jake and eight great grandchildren.

The visiting hours will be on Wednesday, September 21st at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.  A service will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday morning, September 22nd at 11:00 with Reverend Scott Morrow officiating.  Interment will follow in Northford Cemetery.
