Dominic Anthony Falcone, Sr., 94, of New Haven passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Smilow Cancer Hospital/Yale New Haven with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 59 years to the late Madeline DeRosa Falcone. Mr. Falcone was born in Columbus, OH on March 22, 1922; son of the late Anthony and Frances Casbarro Falcone; resided in Connecticut most of his life, he was a proud Navy veteran of World War II serving as a First Class Aviation Electrician in the South Pacific on the USS Anzio CVE-57 Aircraft Carrier. He worked as an Armature Winder for Safety Electrical Corporation until his retirement in 1987; was an active member of the American Legion, Murray/Reynolds Post # 76, of North Haven. Father of Laura A. Falcone and Dominic A. Falcone, Jr. Brother of Carmel Lucibello and the late Anthony Falcone, Jr., Carmen Falcone, Margaret DeAngelis and Marie Grace Falcone.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Saturday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Therese Church at 10:00 am. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), 11 Pine Street/ M L Keefe, Community Center, Hamden, CT 06514.
