Donald Joseph Morrissey of Branford, CT devoted husband, father, and grandfather died on January 24, 2024 in New Haven, CT. He was 88 years old. Born on December 25, 1935 in Springfield, Massachusetts, he was the son of Donald and Florence. Don graduated from Classical High School and Western New England College, both in Springfield, MA. Married to Judith Burns of Springfield in 1960, Don had four children. He was predeceased by a son, James M. Morrissey, and his wife, Judith. He is survived by Joseph P. Morrissey of Norwalk, Connecticut, Joanne Morrissey of Branford, Connecticut, and John Morrissey of Concord, Massachusetts. Don is survived by his three children, two daughters-in-law, Kelly Morrissey and Aisling Morrissey, and five grandchildren: Tyler Morrissey of South Windsor, CT, Alex Morrissey of Scottsdale, AZ, Siobhan Morrissey of Chicago, IL, Christina Morrissey of Norwalk, CT, and Eoin Morrissey of Concord, MA and his companion, Penney Weiss. Don enjoyed a long career in advertising and was a long-time coach and administrator for North Branford Little League as well as an enthusiastic Red Sox, Bruins, Giants and UConn fan.

The visiting hours will be Friday morning, Feb. 2nd from 9:00 to 10:30 at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Ambrose Parish at St. Monica Church, 1331 Middletown Avenue, Northford at 11:00. Interment will be private in Springfield, Mass.  The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, Connecticut, 06405
