Peacefully and surrounded by his family, Don Mulvey, of Wallingford, CT, passed away on January 7th at the age of 80.  He was born to the late Paul and Genevieve Mulvey on July 5, 1941 in New Haven, CT.  After graduating North Haven High School he was successful in starting two businesses; A.M. Data Services which he owned for 15 years and Health Insurance Associates for 20 years of which he retired from.  Don will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 30 years Margaret (Peg) Skowronski; his daughters Stacie Allen and Jill Purpura; step daughter Michelle DeMarco-Reyes; step son Joel DeMarco; and sister-in-law Gail Ballou. He adored his 6 grandchildren; Mackenzie, Riley, Sydney, Steven, Alex and Tharon who affectionally referred to him as the “tickle monster”.  He was predeceased by his brother Robert Mulvey.  Don was an avid golfer who often loved to recount the day he had an eagle at Laurel View Country Club.  In addition to golf he enjoyed skiing at local mountains and was an avid bowler. Whether it be ten pin, candlestick or duckpin he would easily beat his competition! He never missed watching his Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots and was always up for a passionate conversation about football or baseball. He jokingly referred to being “part-amphibious” and looked forward to his trips to the Bahamas with Peg where he would spend most of his time in the ocean. When at home he always liked to have a roaring fire as he said it made a house a home.  Add green thumb to his achievements as he enjoyed planting a summer garden and always managed a healthy crop of tomatoes, squash or beans. Above all he will be most remembered for his kindness, keen sense of humor and how he liked to make the people around him laugh. Even in his final days he remained amazingly positive and went out of his way to joke around with his caregivers and his family, trying to make light of the situation.  He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts and his legacy will carry on with his beloved family.
