Doreene A. Randi Scherb, 74, of Madison passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Gladeview Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Old Saybrook. She was the beloved wife of 42 years to Clifford B. Scherb. Doreene was born in New Haven on August 20, 1942; daughter of Jennie Riccio Randi and the late Dominic Randi and had worked for the New Haven Register for 30 years until her retirement. Sister of Donna Gargano (Rocco), John Randi (Linda) and the late Vincent Randi. Sister-in-law of Linda Randi. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Gladeview for their compassion and care.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Friday morning at 11:00 with the Rev. Timothy Meehan officiating. Family and friends may call from 9:30 until time of service. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
I just would like to say THANK YOU to my brother – in – law CLIFF there was not a day that went bye that he was not by my sisters side . Since she got sick in may he was with her everyday sitting with her and feeding her and being there for her he was truly devoted to her . It is hard knowing that this is the second silbing that I have lost but peaceful in a way I know she is not suffering anymore and now is with my father and brother . I hope she is flying high on a angels wings and is at peace I love you and we all are going to miss you ! I love and will miss all those phones calls u don’t realize how much till they stop coming thanks for always being there in your own special way love sis Love Donna

I have known you since I was 6 years old. You never treated me any different than your other nieces or nephews and I knew you as my Aunt Doreene. I remember when I was younger you would have Thanksgiving at your house and I also remember Christmas time you were always excited and never forgot to give us a gift. You were always overly polite and most of all usually quiet, but always asked how I was and always talked to my kids. You will be missed. Rest peacefully. ❤️ Jamie
