Dorothy G. Glenn Michniewski, 102, passed away peacefully at home on December 17, 2021, with her nephew at her side.  Born on October 28, 1919, in North Haven to James and Hazel Dimock Glenn.  Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Ted, her brother James Glenn, sister-in-law Ethel Glenn, sister-in-law Vera Michniewski and niece Gail Michniewski.  She is survived by her loving nephew Mark (Laurel) Glenn of Cheshire, nephew Michael Michniewski of New Jersey, nieces Diane Glenn of Southbury, and Sue Michniewski of New Jersey, great nephews Christopher, Kevin and Kyle Glenn, great nieces Katherine Giguere and Kimberly Antoniani as well as five great-great nephews and seven great-great nieces, one of whom was her namesake.  Dorothy was an avid golfer, bowler, and gardener. She was a member of the Laurel View Women’s Golf Association and the Saint Frances Cabrini Women’s Club.  She was also an organist and taught religious education at St. Frances Cabrini Church.  Free time meant “road trip” having traveled most of the US and Canada. Dorothy loved the UCONN Women’s Basketball and Animal Haven.  She loved her dogs Sam. (She named all her dogs Sam)  She often said she never met a stranger.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregiver Donna Casciello for taking such good care of her as well as CT Hospice, Branford for their support. 

Friends and family are invited to meet directly at the office of All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Avenue, North Haven on Tuesday afternoon at 1:15 and will follow in procession to the graveside for a committal service at 1:30 PM.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Animal Haven, 89 Mill Road, North Haven.
