Dorothy Grace Neubig, 79, of Northford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. She was born in New Haven on April 19, 1938 and was the daughter of the late Charles and Grace Augur Neubig. Dorothy graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in 1956 than attended Stone Business College graduating in 1958. She worked as an Executive Legal Secretary for Trotta Trotta & Trotta Law Firm from 1958-1977 and was also a Co-Owner of Windy Acres where she was known as “The Flower Lady”. Dorothy was an active parishioner of St. Monica’s parish where she was the church Secretary & Eucharist Minister as well as a Eucharistic Minister for the Hospital of St. Raphael. She was a member of St. Monica’s Rosary Society where she served as President, Secretary and former Chairman of St. Monica’s Bazaar. Dorothy was a member of the Lady’s Auxiliary of the Northford Fire Department Company No. 2 where she served as President & Treasurer. She was also a member of the North Haven Grange No. 35 & the Pomona Grange. She was a member of the original Relay for Life in the town of North Branford, where she served on the Finance & Luminary committees and received the Arch Bishop Whalen and St. Joseph Medals. Sister of Anne C. Neubig and William C. (Judy) Neubig. Aunt of Kenneth W. (Toby) Neubig, David R. (Kimberly) Neubig and her niece & Godchild, Denise (David) Neubig Prather. Great Aunt of Jared, Jacob, Emily, Grace and Ben.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Saturday morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Monica Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 pm. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, PO Box 718, Old Mystic, CT 06372.

It is with great sadness that I read this news of Dorothy‘s passing. She was one of the nicest, most pleasant person I ever knew. I will never forget her because she helped me so many times when I was in high school typing all my term papers for me.
