Dorothy Coletta, 97 ½ years old of Madison, CT passed away peacefully at home on February 7, 2024.
Dorothy was born in Stamford, CT, to the late Benedetto and Antonia (Buzzeo) Macari.
Dorothy is survived by her sister, Josephine Desgro, sisters-in-law Gail Macari, Doris Macari and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dennis Coletta, their precious Crystal, her brothers Jerry, Charles, Lorenzo (Buddy), Dominick Macari and Frank (Carmela) Macari, Sr.; her sisters Mary (Fred) Crolla, Phyllis (Bud) Minkle, and brother-in-law Frank Desgro, Sr.
Dorothy was a devoted wife to Dennis for 39 years. She was kind, generous and loving to her family and friends. Always willing to fill her Lincoln Town Car trunk with trays of food and desserts. She never missed a holiday or celebration with her great heart. Her home was her pride and joy. She loved waving and smiling at her neighbors as she kept her yard groomed and spotless. Dorothy unselfishly put others’ needs above her own.
The family would like to thank her caregiver, Lyn, for her care, love, and devotion to Dorothy. Her kindness and compassion will always be remembered.
Viewing will take place at 10:30am on Saturday, February 17th at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, North Haven, followed by prayer service at the funeral home at 12:00 PM. The burial will take place immediately after the service at All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Avenue, North Haven, CT.

Aunt Dottie was a very special lady. Her love of her family and friends was overwhelming. She was a blessing to the Coletta family and a welcome addition. It was very easy to love her and enjoy her company. We had many conversations about family history and she always had good advice and up until recently her memory was sharp as a tack. Aunt Dottie is the last of the Aunts and Uncles of her generation and she will be very missed by all who knew and loved her. Rest in Peace my sweet aunt.
