John Gordon Befus, Jr., 64, of Northford, passed away peacefully on Thursday November 19, 2015 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Janet Haversat Befus. John was born in New Haven on April 1, 1951; son of Jean Riveness Befus and the late John Gordon Befus, Sr. Father of Ashlie Marie Befus and Kyle Gordon Befus. Also survived by Shane Lynch whom was like a second son to him. Brother of Sharon (Steve) Zahariades.
Family and friends may call on Saturday November 28th, 2015 from 3 to 7 pm at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Closer to Free Fund, which jointly supports Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven and Yale Cancer Center, P.O. Box 1849, New Haven, CT 06508.
Love you John, always in my heart. You were a best friend to my father and always so kind to me. Your family has always been and will always be family to me. Sending my love to the whole Befus family and wishing I could be there with you.
Words cannot express my sorrow over the loss of such a wonderful man, husband, father and friend. He will be greatly missed. Prayers and hugs.
