Edward J. Surette, 78, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 3rd, 2022, at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 31 years to Roberta Picagli Surette. Ed was born in Lewiston, Maine on January 24th, 1944, and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Surette. Ed’s passion in life was taking care of dogs. Father of Dan (Claire) Surette, Ric (Ann) Surette, Mike (Kimberly) Surette and Scott (Shannon) Surette. Grandfather of Brooke, Adelle, Meghan, Matthew, Heather, Alex, Zachary, Aaron, Zachary, Tristin and Colin. Great-Grandfather of Rowan, Emerson, Easton, Mackenzie and Oliver. Stepbrother of Edgar and the late Robert “Bunny” Druin.
The visiting hours will be Tuesday, March 8th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A prayer service will be conducted at 6:30 PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Maine in the Spring.

All of us at the farm are so sorry to hear about Ed. He was such a nice man, always kind and willing to let me pet his “crew” in the van. Our prayers are with the family. He will be missed.
